Website copywriter for Gloucestershire First

It's a big responsibility being entrusted as the copywriter to promote Gloucestershire to the world.

Gloucestershire First is the countywide economic partnership established to develop and support the economic well-being of the county.When they needed help with the website copywriting for their new Inward Investment website, I was invited to join the creative team.

Selling Gloucestershire as an inward investment destination

The work, in conjunction with Oxford based website designers Urban Element, involved substantial copy generation for the new site as well as copy-editing and rewriting of existing materials such as sector profiles. A key part of my brief was to make the copy engaging; to bring out the personality and character of Gloucestershire in an interesting way – emphasising the business and lifestyle benefits of relocation to Gloucestershire while avoiding the 'dry' style often associated with local authority websites.

'Having worked with Al Hidden before, we were eager to secure his services again when developing our new Inward Investment site. We wished to portray the professionalism of service that we offer local businesses and New Investors, but also the personal element.

'From the first meeting where we discussed what our needs were and the task, Al fully understood our requirements. This was important due to the short deadline in getting the copy to the website developers so not to miss the launch deadline. The content that we were given was superb, it highlighted the personal approach of our service but included all the key information required.
