Environmental policy

At Al Hidden Copywriter, I believe in doing my bit for the environment. It's not always easy, but in work as in my private life, I try to do my best:

Here are some of the things I have done to help the environment:

• Converting office lighting to low-energy LED down-lighters, spotlights and daylight simulation fluorescent desk lights.

• Recycling printer ink cartridges.

• Wearing an extra jumper in the office in the winter – and turning the heat down a notch.

• Working from home wherever possible – to avoid commuting mileage.

• Walking to local meetings where practicable.

• Avoiding the use of paper documents as much as possible.

• Recycling paper (hard copy proofs, periodicals etc.), cardboard and plastic packaging.

• Composting scraps from the office kitchen – for Mrs H's allotment.

• Keeping the majority of work in Gloucestershire and nearby counties – for reduced mileage.

• Running small, energy efficient vehicles, route planning and driving economically for optimum fuel consumption.

It all adds up. And as the experts say, if we all do our bit...
