Take a small professional commercial laundry based in Dursley, Gloucestershire, then throw in the challenge of creating their first 'proper' website.
Avon Ports Laundry Services approached me at the start of 2014. They had a website mock up but recognised that they didn't have the time or the specialist copywriting skills to craft their own website content. Besides, there was a busy commercial laundry to operate and customers in Gloucestershire, South Wales, Bristol and the south Midlands to look after. The last thing that business owner Marcus Thorne and his team needed was to spend hours wrestling with the words to define differentiate their company.
So I headed down to Dursley, took a good look around Avon Ports' premises and talked with Marcus and his colleagues. I like to do that (face to face if possible) because it gives me a greater insight into a business. During our conversation I was also able to direct Marcus to a trusted local designer for much-needed help with the new website and branding of the business.
Within a few days of our meeting, I'd delivered first-draft copy, incorporated a few amends and additions, and delivered final draft copy. Later, the new website went live.
As well as freeing the Avon Ports team from having to wrestle with copywriting, I added value with my input to their graphic and website design. This was another example of how my copywriting services can free up time for SME owner-managers. By getting me involved, Marcus was able to unload the challenge of writing (it isn't everyone's thing) and concentrate on what he does best – running a successful commercial cleaning business.
Whether you run a commercial cleaning company like Avon Ports, or any other type of SME, do you really have the time, the inclination or the specialist skills to do your own SEO website copywriting. Imagine being able to brief the work to me, then forget it while I craft your new copy:
What worked for Marcus and Avon Ports Laundry Services could work for your business too. We should have a chat.
