I was thrilled to be contacted by Powder Cashmere, based in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire. Sue and Francesca had just launched their shop, specialising in cashmere knitwear, jewellery and home perfumes. With the shop in the Cotswolds taking off, they had turned their attention to their website and e-commerce operation. With Christmas 2014 rapidly approaching, time was of the essence and they needed a hand with copy for several informational pages as well as product descriptions.
As well as helping to get the Powder Cashmere website ready for launch, my input freed Sue and Francesca to concentrate on other aspects of their online and 'bricks and mortar' presence. It was the old story again: I did what I do best, while my clients get on with activities that enable them to apply their unique skills to a business.
The result, by December 2014, was that the Stow shop was ready to make the most of the pre-Christmas rush. And the new website was showing off and describing Powder Cashmere's goodies to best effect.
Writing product descriptions is more important than ever, but it isn't everyone's cup of tea. If you don't fancy doing it yourself, or if you've tried and given up in despair, don't worry. I write five, six or even seven days a week. Product descriptions like the ones I wrote for Powder Cashmere come fast and easily to me.
We should have a talk. That way, I can write about your products in an engaging way that will appeal to human buyers and the search engines. Remember, since Google's recent algorithm reviews, the search engine is penalising websites that don't offer original (unique) product descriptions. It's no longer enough to reproduce the manufacturer's standard copy. You need something unique and I can provide it.
