Since 1992, Gloucestershire-based R-Tech Welding Equipment & Consumables has been supporting a wide range of organisations operating in engineering and other fields. The common denominator for every R-Tech customer is their requirement for high-quality welding equipment, consumables and accessories – and helpful advice on all aspects of welding.
In 2018, as R-Tech substantially upgraded their website and online presence, my professional copywriting services were recommended to them. Since then, I've researched and written numerous website pages, blog post articles, customer profiles and team profiles for this family-run business. Here's what Justin Gyles, digital marketing manager at SOZO Design, R-Tech's SEO and online marketing partner, had to say about my work:
'The articles we tasked Al to write on welding the different metals (alum, cast iron, stainless steel) last year to capture that search market are now ranking really well! They’re paying off. Some are the Top Growing Pages from March compared to Feb...'
The subject matter I've worked on includes website content on topics including the following:
Writing for R-tech has drawn on my ability to quickly understand technical topics, then convert this into clear, engaging copy to engage customers, prospects and search engines.
Depending on the brief for each piece of work, I liaised with R-Tech subject matter experts, the company's retained SEO specialist and customers. I then crafted the required copy using recognised website and SEO copywriting techniques before submitting it for technical edit by the R-tech team. Amends at this stage were consistently minimal, which reflects my ability to rapidly assimilate and write about this specialised engineering-related topic.
After a year of writing, feedback from my client, and their independent marketing director, was positive, with substantially enhanced performance in search engine results pages (SERPS).
As well as demonstrable technical copywriting skills, decades of practical experience in and around engineering, as well as the interpersonal skills (including interviewing), required to elicit vital information, contributed to my ability to support R-Tech Welding Equipment as they grow their online business.
R-Tech Welding Equipment got me involved with their copywriting because they didn't have the time and specialist writing skills needed to get vital copywriting off their to-do list and working for them.
Imagine how my skills and experience could be applied to the engineering copywriting your business urgently needs. Remember that website copy, customer profiles and case studies, blog articles and brochures are only a good intention until someone writes them for you. That's where I come in.
Whatever aspect of engineering you operate in, let's talk about your engineering copywriting requirements and how I can help.
