Once upon a time, I was a marketing manager, running promotional activities for the Bradstone Garden Products brand. I can relate to where you are now because it was a nightmare setting time aside to be creative. Even if I worked off-site or at home, there was always that nagging feeling about all the pressing business tasks piling up in the office: the phone calls, meetings, memos and post (no email then) that had to be done. yet being creative was an important part of my role.

 

Add this to the fact that your hourly rate as a senior manager or company director is likely to be more than mine as a freelance copywriter, and it starts to make even more sense to outsource specialist copywriting. Think about it: even if you write for a morning a week, are you going to be as effective at writing than a professional who writes five, six or sometimes seven days a week?

The simple copywriting process

After we've agree the brief, we'll have a fact-finding interview . I can do this over the phone or face to face if you're based near my Cheltenham offices.

 

Next, I get on with your writing, creating sparkling Website copy that engages human searchers and the search engines alike; brochure copy that tells your story and showcases your capabilities effectively. Or maybe you want to get your clients talking about you in their words? That's where my case studies come into their own.

 

While I write, you can focus on what you do best. Rather than wrestling with copy, and the guilty inner voice that says you should be doing something else, you can get on with the activities that best use your unique skills.

 

Then I present you with a well-written first-draft; and after that, up to two rounds of revisions. These three stages are normally more than enough time to get your copy to exactly where you want it.

 

At the end of our collaboration, you have the copy we've agreed. This process makes perfect sense. You get the content you require, while I get on with the writing. At the end of the project, you have the copy you require, but not the nagging feeling that you've burned too much time staring at that blinking cursor on a blank word-processor page.
